COCONUT PULLING

For the past week I’ve been coconut pulling to help improve my oral hygiene. As my family line has evident oral health problems, I started learning how I could safe guard these potential inherited dental problems.

Coconut oil has been used for centuries as an effective oral hygiene practice. According to research, coconut pulling, executed by swishing oil in your mouth for 10 to 20 minutes, can help prevent oral health issues including tooth decay, gum health, gingivitis, and bad breath.

Rather than using chemical products that strip your natural enamel and create sensitivities this is a great alternative.

Start on an empty stomach

- "Chew' until it melts

- Use the right amount for you

- Don't gargle

- Do a small task at the same time

- Do it long enough

- Don't spit it in the sink

- Fake a break if your mouth is tired

- Swish with salt water after

- Brush and floss normally after

I do this after dinner when I know I have finished eating for the day. Hot tip if you are one to snack unconsciously clean teeth can help curb those behaviours! I finish with brushing my teeth with Grants Whitening Toothpaste available on the website.
